Construction Zones save Energy, Lives with Solar Sign Lights

Construction zones and highway works zones could benefit from solar powered signs because they not only save energy, they save lives.  Solar powered signs use the sun’s energy to generate three or four flashing yellow or red LED lights to draw attention to a sign in the hopes that a driver will heed the warning on the sign.

Solar powered signs such as solar powered stop signs, solar powered safety signs, solar powered warning signs and solar powered lights require no electrical outlets or long extension cords because they are powered by the sun’s ultraviolet rays, which is a free and renewable energy.  Every solar powered sign, no matter what it says, uses the sun’s power to generate a battery that helps four LED lights flash on and off which grabs the attention of drivers or pedestrians in order to keep them safe.

Many communities are switching their regular tin stop signs to solar stop signs because they are more cost-effective and help to save lives.  Solar stop signs use the sun’s energy to generate power to four red LED lights that flash on and off to make the stop sign more noticeable to those drivers who may be distracted.  The majority of smaller communities and small towns have maybe one main street that runs through town with several stop signs along its route and everybody knows where each stop sign is. However, if they are distracted, they could drive right past them without even thinking and into another car and possibly cause a fatal accident.  The solar powered stop signs are designed to help stop cars at an intersection where a stop is appropriate and needed.  The flashing LED lights are hard to ignore and can save lives.

Solar sign lights could be used at construction sites and highway works zones when nighttime work is required.  Even though the sun is not out, these solar sign lights will run for 12 consecutive hours on the power they gained during the day even on an overcast or cloudy day.  There is never a need for any type of electrical cord or outlet because the solar panels take care of generating the battery that makes the LED lights flash around whatever word or words the sign happens to have printed on it.  This is what makes solar signs so unique; the fact that they do not need anything but the sun’s warm rays in order to help save lives with their flashing LED lights and save energy by using solar panels.
